PTSD is more common than we think and can be caused by what may seem to some to be minor events. Each of us is unique. According to the theory or Highly Sensitive Person's (HSP's), a percentage of every mammal population has a more active nervous system that can alert the more sensitive population earlier than others would notice. This trait is of great value to the population, yet in our western culture can be seen as weakness.

The point of this is that for an HSP, some events that might not be traumatic for less-sensitive individuals, may be to an HSP.
